Bespoke’s Gift Guide: The Alcohol Edition

Dec 20 2016 BY bespokemag

With each passing year, Christmas begins to lose the novelty it once had for you when you were younger. No longer does buying and decorating a Christmas tree, packing stockings and singing Christmas carols have as much value as they did in your childhood. Now Christmas is enjoyed for different reasons like the time off from work or university, Christmas work parties and most importantly the relentless drinking. It seems with age any opportunity to drink needs to be ceased upon especially with work nullifying the freedom you once had at uni to drink. Well at Bespoke we too share this love for a bevvy over the festive period, so we went and listed some of our go-to beverages that you should purchase over the holiday season.

Captain Morgan Orignal Spiced Rum

There’s no drink that’s more unisex than Captain Morgan Orginal Spiced Rum, a drink loved by both sexes for its sweetish flavour but still retaining the alcohol strength of your traditional rum. It ignores the archetype of men having to drink beer, bourbon and whisky, and women drinking wine, champagne and liqueur – but offering the best of both worlds for all to enjoy. Plus it’s ludicrously inexpensive too!

Absolut Facet

Absolut introduces its latest limited edition bottle, Absolut Facet, a blue bottle featuring an asymmetrical design. The round edges of the Facet bottle have been cut into like a gem, creating a number of faces that catch the light in unique ways.

Disaronno Wears Etro

Disaronno, the world’s favourite Italian liqueur, returns this holiday season with a unique look designed by renowned fashion house, Etro. Since 1968, the Italian luxury label has made a footprint in the fashion world as one of Italy’s most celebrated houses. Beloved by fashion enthusiasts, the iconic Etro paisley print, for which the fashion house is best known, transforms the Disaronno bottle, giving it a dressed up look perfect for gifting this Christmas.

The cognac of all cognacs, Courvoisier is the regal but yet people’s favourite beverage. It’s a unique drink that we shouldn’t love, but do, think of it as the cool uncle that never grows uncool – just forever provides wisdom. Let’s not forget that the drink is so popular that even Busta Rhymes, P, Diddy and Pharrell Williams made a song about it.

Russian Standard Gold

There’s no such thing as too much vodka, so we had to add another vodka recommendation to the list. Russian Standard Gold creates an extra special alcoholic experience, flavoured with extracts of ginseng, known as the ‘golden root’ in Russian. Best enjoyed with soda water, fresh lime and a splash of sugar syrup.
