THE KITH X ADIDAS CONSORTIUM TUBULAR DOOM

Jan 28 2016 BY Daniel Nkwocha

If you’ve been paying attention then you’ll know that we’re big fans of the Adidas revival – epitomised by the new Tubular Doom silhouette which dropped last week. Anyone who’s ever had an eye on the sneaker game will also know that Adidas are launching the Consortium Tour; a journey around the globe in collaborations throughout the year. The first stop is New York and a collaboration with none other than Kith.

The shoe draws its inspiration from Ronnie Fieg’s description of New York as a “cold, unforgiving concrete jungle” with the Primeknit sock upper and woolen cage entirely greyscale. The collab also features an elastic strap on the quarter panel and forefoot. The shoe is finished off with co-branding and the slogan “Just Us” emblazoned on the heel.

The Tubular Doom is a work of art in its own right and, while its not a massive departure from the grey inaugural pair that launched last week, the Kith x Adidas Consortium Tubular Doom gets the details right and has enough about it to make it a must cop. You can grab your pair from select retailers such as SNS and Footpatrol on Saturday 30th January. They will go fast.
