Depending on your age memories of student life may still be quite fresh; the special student relationship with booze and pizza is hard to forget. Wapping’s Trade Union bar have opened up the doors for change however. They’ve swapped out the drink-as-much-as-you-can-without-being-sick-then-order-pizza-after vibes of old for a newer more refined gin cocktail and pizza rolling experience, which launched on September 6th.
The BUSHWHACK Co pizza rolling workshop hosted by head chef Tomas Zdowswski offers a fortnightly chance to put your hands to work, tasking them with more than just dialling the numbers to your local pizza takeaway. The workshop lets pizza fiends make, then sample, their own authentic New York artisanal pizzas.
Bar Manager Elliot Rengasamy heads up the gin cocktail tasting masterclass; with 10 different gin based cocktails and 8 varieties of of Gin & Tonics on offer, it’s not so far removed from the over-consumption days of Freshers Week.
